KOP is a social business enterprise selling organic coconut products. Formed in 2012, KOP helps families in the Outer Islands to earn money for school fees and other needs.

 Activity:

The KOP is working with farmers to build up their skills in developing value-added coconut products. The training is one of the initiatives following from the declaration of Abaiang Island as organic. The main markets are to outlets in South Tarawa and to overseas visitors. Sales of virgin coconut oil alone go to over 50 outlets. Vegetables, fruit and most of the coconut sugar head to South Tarawa, while there is some interest from overseas buyers for the coconut sugar.
