Kiribati Farmers to receive support in Organic Agriculture

The workshop aimed at providing information on organic agriculture and certification to farmers and relevant stakeholders and is focused on strengthening the participation of women in organic agriculture value-chains.  BPWP Project Manager, Ms Neema Nand said that the project will work closely with national partners and will focus activities on Butaritari Island, along with supporting the development of the Kiribati National Organic Policy.

Australia’s Deputy High Commissioner to Kiribati, Mr Tim Gill, in his keynote reaffirming the support the Australian Government is providing to the agricultural sector through its programming and projects. The BPWP Project will be working closely with MELAD, especially the Agriculture & Livestock Division, and the Kiribati Organic Farmers and Producers Cooperative
